Robyn is back with a new single, "Dopamine" — and fans couldn't be more thrilled over her long-awaited return to music.
The new single, which dropped on Wednesday alongside a music video featuring Robyn dancing alone as well as with her son, Tyko, is the Swedish singer's first in seven years. The song reunites Robyn with Klas Åhlund, her longtime collaborator, who also worked with her on songs like her 2010 hit "Dancing on My Own."
The dance-y track "Dopamine" features lyrics like "I know it's just dopamine / But it feels so real to me / I'm tripping on our chemistry / It's firing up inside of me / I just need to know / That I'm not alone / I know it's just dopamine / But it feels so real to me."
Fans love the new single. In the comments section of the music video, one wrote, "It's great of Robyn to be in charge of the music again, she's absolutely awesome!" Another welcomed back the artist, writing that she "came to save music once again." A third thanked the musician for "being a shining light in my world, and for being a constant source of joy and true artistry!"
And another likened Robyn's return to that of Hilary Duff and Vanessa Carlton, both of whom released new songs this month after taking a break from releasing music.

Back in September, Åhlund revealed on the podcast Nordmark Pod that the two were working together on an album. The upcoming work is Robyn's first album since her 2018 release, Honey, which featured songs like "Missing U" and "Baby Forgive Me."
It’s not unusual for Robyn to take some time between new music. She took nearly eight years between her 2010 album, Body Talk — which was three mini albums that dropped at separate times across 2010 — and Honey.
Although Robyn has not released new music of her own since Honey, she has collaborated with other artists. That includes Charli xcx, whom she joined for a remix of her 2024 Brat single "360," which also featured Yung Lean.
